I click on the link to download the addon, and using Chrome it gives me the option to Open or Save. You may also choose Open.
When the window opens to your freshly downloaded folders, highlight the folder(s), Right Click, and select Cut (don't close it, just in case). In a new window, locate your Wow game (mine is C:/Program Files (x86)/WorldofWarcraft/Interface/Addons) and then Right Click in the Addons folder margin and select Paste. If updating, it will ask you if you want to move/keep or move/replace the folders. Always Move and Replace to all items.

Main Features of LUI v3: - Full automatic installation - Support for all addons - Support for all resolutions from 1280 pixels in width up to 1920 - Over 200 Textures that will make your WoW look better than ever before. - Option Panel with more than 3000 possibilities to make your UI unique. LUI is a world of warcraft All-In-One user interface addon. If you download updates from Curse, you will need to pick this addon up separately.

This will move the folder to where your game is located so that you can use it. Most addons are started when the game is initially started, so you may need to exit all the way out of WoW (not just logout) and restart the game to see the update. The download folder you Cut the addon from should be empty, and can be closed. If it is not you may have forgotten to move part of the addon.

Comment by mousetrap While the guide part is good, the addons listed for new players is not. Bartender and bagnon are horrible addons for new players and beginners. Both of those tend to break every patch and are usually down for up to a few days after. Also.if anything happens with those addons, players that use them tend to be in bad shape as they have no familiarity with the basic ui. Postal isnt needed as a new or beginning player, and even most veteran players will have no use for it.
As for the 'extras'.most have no use being on a new or beginner list, as the features they have are for intermediate to advanced users. And some (looking at you faster loot) have the potential to get someone banned. The only ones on that list that belong there are Auctionator (not auctioneer as that one is much more complex), scrap, recount (skada has had issues this whole xpac, and details is a pain to set up so its useful), DBM (bigwigs isnt used as much, so dbm has a better chance of meshing with pugs),and GTFO.
2 i would add for 'extras' would be Coordinates (for getting locations and directions easier), and Nomicakes (because nomi is a pain). Comment by Manniala I do not write this to hijack the authors post, but mainly because i find some of the addons are not the best there is, so i give MY opinion, but i do not know all of the addons, so will only write about those i know off, and which i think could be a better pick and why. I think i need to say this, mousetrap wrote that he do not think that new players should use any of the addons on the authors list, except Auctionator, think thats meeeh, as a new player, you should not 'just' tell them to use easy addons, or 'bad' ones, im not saying that there are bad addons out there, but there are 'better' ones, why not use them at the beginning? Why should you take some thing that is not as great, just because its a bit 'easier'? They then might think, ok this is the addone that is available and then get stuck with that for a long time, unknowing that there was a better option? When a new player ask me some thing in game, for instance how do i make gold, i could say yeah well kill mobs, no i would tell him some options to make decent gold, or should i tell him go kill lvl 1 and get copper from the loot, no right?
I would tell him how he (at hes level), can make some ok gold, and i know will benefits the new player way more, then just some half bad advice (addons as here). Its about getting a good start, and i do know that most of the addons i listed is not for 6 year old kids, i presume that many of the players that seek addons already know what addons is in one form or another, kids at 12+ now a day, they are not that stupid, they can figure out how to setup the addons, so who are we to tell them that they should only use 'simple' addons, instead of the best available ones? I could not find a way to contact the author, else i would had send him this before i post it, but if WrathBabyBell Makes a comment, and ask me to remove my post i will do so ofc, but again its not to hijack hes post, but mainly to give the users a 'in my opinion' better choices, will monitor it over the next few days, after that probably not any further. Auctioneer: I was a big fan of it, but like 4+ years ago i wanted more. I were using the AH more and more, and auctioneer was not giving me every thing i wanted, so i looked around and found (TSM), i installed it and it was like OMFG this is not what i want, it was way to complicated, it was confusing compared to the other AH addons, so after a few hours i uninstalled it again, but then i thought ah well youtube might help with the setup. TSM v3 can be really complex, so after a few days with it, it became the addone for me.
TSM v3 is out now, but soon TSM v4 will be replacing it, it will be way more user friendly for new players, but for the experienced players (like my self NOW), it still offers a lot of customization, and its way faster to get into for new players. For those of you that are thinking of going into the AH business, this is THE addone to get. But i would wait til TSM v4 is out, or go and see if you can get the Beta, i wont recommend you to go and mingle with v3, since v4 came in beta start of November last year, so it cant be long before its getting released, and the time you 'must' spend on setting it up is not worth it i think. You do not need to scan the AH either for item prices, you can go to TSM site and get the windows app, that then download the AH database directly, so no need to sit 10+ mins and scan the AH. Bagnon: Might want to read this before reading any further on Bags from: KereFr. KereFr For bags, i would strongly recommend AdiBags which automatically sorts your bags (consumable, armor, weapons, trash, quests, etc.) Which he might be right, but i still want to give you mu opinion, AdiBags might fit like most of the players, but i like to be in control, so there for i got ArkInventory on the list also. Yeah its a nice little addone, but for me again it was to simple, was still to cluttered when you get new items, and you have to spend way to much time sorting it all out, so again i found a replacement for it and the addone was, its way more complex, but gives you way more options, like making rules.
For instance if you want to have all armor sorted out in their own 'virtual bars' you can make a rule for that like this 'type( 'armor' )' or if you want only cloth armor in that bar then you can make a rule like 'type( 'armor' ) and subtype( 'cloth' )'. Or lets say you have multiply set of armor, DPS, Healer and tank, you then probably already use the set function in wow, you can then make sure that they are sorted out in their own bar with 'outfit( 'healing' )' and so on, or if you dont mind they all are in the same bar then just do 'outfit( )' it will then take every thing that you have in a outfit and place it in that bar. It makes it really easy. Once you have made the rules it all goes automatically, like you always have herb/ore/leather and so on in their own bar if you have specified that, there are tons of rules you can make. And the nice thing is, it works with TSM also, so you can in TSM make your own groups and then just make a rule in that then uses the TSM groups, for instance i have rules for Junk transmogs, i mean those that sells for less then 200g on the ah, i just put them in a 'junk' group in TSM, and when ever i get one of the items, it goes in that bar, and i know i just can vendor it if i want to, and then ofc other groups for the more rare transmogs and so on, again lots of options.
For me this is the go to addone for bags, but it can be complicated to setup, but once you have figured it out you wont ever use any other. Scrap: Well, if you have just make a rule for grey/junk items, or bop items that you wont use since its from a old raid for instance, and its just vendor trash now, so you can make a rule that puts it in a bar, like you can make the rule so that every thing that is bop and under ilvl 600 should be placed in that bar, but this was just another example on what also can do for you, you even can specify that the items that are in specific bars, can get auto vendoret also.
Comment by lynspottery Within the last couple of days the addon called Postal has borked out. It has the Alt list grayed out and is not working as well as it did a week ago. Something in the latest Bliz patch did something to it but I cannot figure out why or what.
Best Wow Ui
If you are going to suggest addons, I would recommend someone on your staff double check that the addons you recommend are actually working as intended. I suspect something behind the scenes that might be connected in some manner to an auction house string, might be the culprit, but someone with more knowledge about the programming should really double check. I do not recommend Postal at this point until it has been fixed to work correctly.
